Desktop humidors yes, electric fridges no. For desktop units, wipe the cedar interior with distilled water (never tap water) and leave it sealed for 24–48 hours before loading your cigars. This activates the cedar and establishes baseline humidity. Full instructions are included with every order.

Yes, with one caveat. Bold full-bodied cigars can transfer aroma to milder ones over time in smaller spaces. If you're mixing heavy Nicaraguans with light Connecticut wrappers, use the cedar divider to separate them. In a humidor fridge with active airflow, cross-contamination is minimal.

Seal it in a zip bag with a damp cloth for 4–6 hours. It should read 96–98% RH. If it doesn't, adjust accordingly. Our digital hygrometers are factory-calibrated and require no adjustment out of the box.

A desktop humidor relies on passive humidification, cedar lining and a humidifier you refill manually. It works well for collections under 50 cigars in a stable environment. A humidor fridge uses active climate control to maintain precise temperature and humidity automatically, no refilling, no checking, no surprises.

Buy for where your collection is going, not where it is today. A humidor that's too full restricts airflow and creates humidity dead zones. A humidor that's too empty is harder to keep stable. The sweet spot is 60–75% capacity.
